Google's co-founder, Sergey Brin , has finalized his divorce from his wife, Nicole Shanahan, amidst rumors of her alleged involvement with Tesla Motors' CEO, Elon Musk .

According to media reports, their divorce was finalized by the judge on May 26th of this year. Brin had initiated the divorce proceedings in January of the previous year, citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the grounds for ending their three-year marriage.

The divorce filing also outlines that the ex-spouses will have joint custody of their 4-year-old daughter.

Confidentiality has been upheld regarding financial matters, including attorney fees, asset division, and spousal support.

Shanahan, the lawyer and founder of the non-profit Bia-Echo Foundation, chose not to contest the divorce but instead sought spousal support.

Allegedly, the estrangement was instigated by claims of romantic involvement between Elon Musk and Brin's former spouse.

The billionaire vehemently dismissed the rumors about his affair on his social media platform X, previously recognized as Twitter.

“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic”, Elon Musk had said in July.

In an interview with People magazine, Shanahan also refuted the reports of her alleged affair, categorizing them as untrue.

“Did Elon and I have sex, like it was a moment of passion, and then it was over? No,” she told the magazine. “Did we have a romantic relationship? No. We didn’t have an affair", Shanahan stated.

In 2015, Sergey Brin, one of the co-founders of Google, began dating his ex-wife. This was the same year that he divorced his first wife, Anne Wojcocki. In 2018, the former couple decided to get married again, as reported by Business Insider.
