WhatsApp Users Can Now Chat With Meta AI In Hindi: New Features Unveiled

Meta has introduced several enhancements to Meta AI on WhatsApp , which is now operational in 22 countries. The AI can now understand and respond in multiple languages, including Hindi, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

On Tuesday, Meta revealed Llama 3.1 , the newest version of their open-source large language model.

In addition to its multilingual capabilities , Meta AI on WhatsApp now features advanced image editing tools . These tools allow users to remove or replace image backgrounds, eliminate specific objects from photos, and generate similar AI-created images.

Unlike other AI models that require a subscription for access to such features, WhatsApp users can enjoy these capabilities at no cost. However, the image editing feature is currently available only in English, with additional languages to be supported soon. All these features are powered by the Llama 3.1 model.

A new feature called Imagine Yourself lets users modify their images using text prompts such as “imagine me with green hair,” “imagine me with tattoos,” or “imagine me in an 80s movie.” This feature is presently limited to WhatsApp users in the US and only in English, but it will expand to more languages and countries in the near future.

To help users distinguish between human and AI-generated images , all images created or edited with Meta AI on WhatsApp will be watermarked.

Beyond WhatsApp, Meta AI is also accessible on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. The latest update allows users to access the Llama 3.1 model with 405 billion parameters on Meta.ai. Developers can download and train the Llama 3.1 model with their own data for free.
