Users Will Soon Add Music Clips to WhatsApp Status Updates
WhatsApp is gearing up to introduce a major update that will enable users to add music to their status updates, a feature reminiscent of Instagram. According to WaBetaInfo, this feature is currently being tested with select beta users on both Android and iOS platforms and is expected to roll out to the public in the near future.
Reports indicate that WhatsApp plans to include a dedicated Music button in the Status section for Android and iOS users. This button will be placed alongside existing editing tools like drawing and text options, allowing users to search for specific songs or artists and choose their favorite tracks.
Users will have the flexibility to select specific parts of the track to include in their status. For photo-based status updates, the music clip can run up to 15 seconds, while in video statuses, the duration will align with the length of the video.
Interestingly, viewers of these status updates will have the ability to engage directly with the artist's Instagram page, fostering greater interaction between music creators and their audience through WhatsApp.
The addition of music to WhatsApp statuses aims to make updates more engaging and dynamic. Details about the selected song will appear next to the shared photo or video, following a format similar to Instagram.
In addition, WhatsApp has been actively rolling out new features to enhance user experience and interaction. Recent updates include selfie stickers, new camera effects, sticker pack sharing, and faster reaction options.
A statement from the company’s blog post emphasized, “We are always working on making WhatsApp more fun and easier to use, so we're excited to kick off the new year with new features and design updates to improve your experience.”
