OpenAI has launched a brand-new feature in ChatGPT called the Image Library, designed to make managing your AI-generated visuals a breeze. Whether you're on the Free, Plus, or Pro plan, this tool is now available for both mobile and desktop users.

The feature was officially announced via OpenAI’s X account, where the company shared a quick 15-second video showcasing how the new Image Library works. In the post, OpenAI stated:

"All of your image creations, all in one place.Introducing the new library for your ChatGPT image creations—rolling out now to all Free, Plus, and Pro users on mobile and http://chatgpt.com" .

What’s the Image Library and How Does It Work?

If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling through endless conversations to find that one perfect image you made, the new Image Library is going to save you time and frustration. Now, every image you create with ChatGPT’s latest 4o model will automatically be saved into your Library. Gone are the days of digging through past chats to find your creations.

The Library is easily accessible on both the web and mobile versions of ChatGPT. You’ll find it located in the left-hand sidebar, and once there, all your previous image creations are neatly organized and ready to revisit. From this central spot, you can reuse, edit, or share your images with just a few clicks.

Need to make something new? No problem! You can always jump straight into image creation by tapping the “Make Image” button right within the Library.

Editing, Saving, and Sharing Made Simple

Want to fine-tune an image or share it with someone else? It’s incredibly easy. Simply press and hold the image you want to edit, and a set of options will pop up:

Edit: This allows you to either adjust the image by adding a new prompt or use the selection tool to highlight specific areas you’d like to change. There’s also a handy slider to adjust the selection size and undo/redo buttons to help you perfect your edits.

Save: Need the image on your device? Just hit Save, and it’ll download straight to your phone or computer.

Share: Quickly send the image to any other app.

Copy: For quick access, simply copy the image to your clipboard.

With all of these options right at your fingertips, managing your AI-generated visuals is faster and more convenient than ever before.

Deleting Images from Your Library

While the Library offers seamless access to all your images, there’s one important thing to keep in mind when it comes to deleting images: they are tied to the conversation they were created in. This means that if you want to remove an image, you’ll need to delete the entire conversation in which it was generated.

Here’s how you can delete a conversation (and its images) from the Library:

On web: Hover over the conversation title in the sidebar, click the three dots (…), and select Delete.

On mobile: Long-press the conversation title, and then tap Delete in the pop-up menu.

The new Image Library is a simple but powerful feature that makes managing, editing, and sharing your ChatGPT-generated images easier than ever before. No more searching through old conversations to find your visuals. Everything you create is neatly stored and ready to go in one place, all with just a few taps or clicks.

So, whether you’re a casual user who enjoys creating fun images or a professional relying on AI art for projects, the Image Library is a fantastic upgrade to enhance your ChatGPT experience.
