Google , the US-based tech giant, has introduced a new "Remove this result" feature in its beta version, offering users a valuable tool to remove certain personal information from their Google Search results. However, it's essential to understand that this action does not eliminate the information from the entire internet or the specific website where it originates.

As CNBC reports, the data will still exist but won't appear in search results under your name, making it more challenging for people to find that specific information.

Now, users have the ability to remove their phone number, email, and home address from Google Search results. If you wish to take down your personal data from search results, follow these steps:

  • Open your web browser and visit myactivity.google.com/results-about-you.
  • Select "Results to review."
  • Click on "Get started" and then press "Next" two times.
  • Add your personal information, such as your name, address, phone number, and email. You can add more than one entry for each.
It's crucial to double-check the information you've provided. Google offers three ways to receive notifications, either via email, push notifications, or both.

  • Choose your preferred notification method. Afterward, you'll receive a pop-up message that says, "We're taking a look."
  • Wait for notifications from Google. When you receive an alert, you can decide whether you want Google to remove that information from search results or leave it there. If you made any mistakes while providing the information, you can go back to the "Results About You" page to make corrections.
Users can monitor their requests by accessing the "Data & privacy" options in their Google Account. Scroll down and select "My activity." Then click on the three dots in the search bar and choose "Other activity." Click on " Manage results about you" to see the status.
