Google has rolled out a new feature for its 'Photos' app that allows users to block a specific person's face from appearing in their Memories. This feature is particularly useful if you prefer not to be reminded of certain people in your photo memories.

Android users can now take advantage of this handy update. Here’s everything you need to know about this new feature:

Google Photos Block Feature

This new feature is now available in the Google Photos app for Android devices. While you might think Google Photos already had a similar function, this new feature is different. Previously, you could hide a person's face from certain parts of the app using the "Show Less" option. However, the new block feature goes a step further by allowing you to completely block a specific person's face from appearing in your Memories carousel. This can be especially useful if you want to avoid seeing a particular person, such as an ex-partner, in your photo memories.

How to Block a Person in Google Photos

  1. Open the Google Photos app and tap the profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Select the "Google Photos Settings" option.
  3. Tap "Preferences," then select "Memories."
  4. Under the "Show Less" option, you'll now find a new "Blocked" tab.
  5. Tap "Select Faces," then choose the face you want to block from showing in the Memories carousel.
  6. Return to the main Google Photos page, and the person's face will no longer appear in your Memories.

This new feature enhances your control over your photo experience, ensuring you only see the memories you want to cherish.
