ChatGPT Sparks Viral ‘AI Action Figure’ Trend on LinkedIn

After the buzz around Ghibli-style AI art, OpenAI's ChatGPT is now at the heart of a quirky new trend—turning users into toy-like dolls. The latest craze involves people creating their own “AI Action Figure”, complete with accessories like laptops, books, and coffee cups, packaged like collectible figurines.

The trend has gained major traction on LinkedIn, aligning well with the platform’s professional and career-focused theme. From digital marketers to creative professionals, users are embracing the concept to showcase their work persona in a fun and futuristic way.

ChatGPT’s Text-to-Image Feature Behind the Craze

This trend is largely driven by OpenAI’s text-to-image update within ChatGPT. Since its launch last month, the feature has grown so rapidly in popularity that OpenAI had to limit access for free users and slow down image generation to avoid server overload.

Interestingly, ChatGPT is the only AI tool consistently credited for creating these virtual action figures, further strengthening its appeal among mainstream users.

Marketers Leading the Trend

The action figure wave is mostly visible on LinkedIn, where marketers and thought leaders are creatively adopting it to build personal brands or highlight work tools.

A few big-name brands such as MAC Cosmetics and NYX Cosmetics have joined the movement, adding their own flair. However, mainstream celebrities and influencers have so far stayed away from this trend.

While not as widespread as the Ghibli-style portraits that trended earlier, the action figure movement continues to showcase how AI—especially ChatGPT—can be used for personal expression and branding.
