On Tuesday, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ( BSNL ) introduced a fresh logo, which the company says reflects trust, strength, and a nationwide presence. In preparation for its nationwide 4G rollout , BSNL announced seven new services, which include spam-blocking , Wi-Fi roaming , intranet TV , and more.

“The launch marks the dawn of a transformative era for the service provider, reaffirming its commitment to providing seamless, universal, affordable, and accessible connectivity to all,” stated Jyotiraditya M Scindia, the Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region.

Key New Services Introduced by BSNL
One of the standout features of BSNL’s new offerings is its spam-free network. The company has implemented a solution designed to block scam and spam communications in real time. Additionally, BSNL introduced Wi-Fi roaming, allowing its network users to connect to any BSNL FTTH Wi-Fi service while on the move, and providing FTTH users access to over 500 premium TV channels through an intranet-based live TV service.

In addition, BSNL has made it more convenient to purchase new SIM cards through its Any Time SIM (ATS) kiosks, which handle SIM dispensing, KYC completion, and activation autonomously. Another notable service is India’s first satellite-to-device connectivity for SMS, available across land, air, and sea.

The company also announced a disaster management network solution and plans to secure a 5G network specifically for the mining industry.

BSNL’s 4G network has been expanding rapidly across India. Since competitors like Airtel, Jio, and Vi raised their tariffs, BSNL has seen a rise in subscribers, drawn by its cost-effective recharge plans. The company aims to complete its 4G rollout by 2025, with a potential 5G network to follow within six to eight months after that.
