PM Modi Refuses To Touch T20 Trophy, Heartwarming Moment With Dravid And Rohit Captivates The Internet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi won widespread admiration when he posed for a photograph with Rohit Sharma 's Team India . On Thursday, PM Modi spent nearly two hours with the ICC T20 World Cup-winning team, which is coached by Rahul Dravid, during a memorable chat in Delhi. In this special meeting, PM Modi hosted India's World Cup heroes for breakfast at his New Delhi residence.

The Indian team faced travel disruptions due to Hurricane Beryl, which left them stranded in Barbados for three days. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranged a special charter flight—Air India Champions 24 World Cup (AIC24WC)—to bring the team home. Upon their arrival in the national capital, PM Modi hosted the team and discussed their incredible journey at the recently concluded ICC event.

PM Modi declined to touch the T20 World Cup trophy , choosing instead to hold hands with captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid. PM Modi's elegant gesture towards Rohit and Dravid caught the attention of social media users. “PM Narendra Modi didn't hold the World Cup trophy, instead held Rohit and David's hands,” a fan mentioned in his post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

PM Modi received a customized team jersey with "NAMO" inscribed on the back, presented by BCCI president Roger Binny and board secretary Jay Shah. "An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament," Modi said.

In a video shared by the PM's office, PM Modi was seen having light-hearted conversations with top cricketers Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant. After their meeting with PM Modi in Delhi, Rohit's Team India arrived in Mumbai for an open bus roadshow, which will be followed by a felicitation ceremony at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
