IPL 2025 Points Table: Latest Rankings and Net Run Rate After SRH vs PBKS Match
Abhishek Sharma’s Fireworks Lead SRH to Record-Breaking Chase in IPL 2025 .
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pulled off an absolute stunner as Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 141 off just 55 balls lit up the IPL and helped his team chase down a mammoth 246-run target against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in just 18.3 overs. With eight wickets still in hand, SRH’s incredible run chase will go down as one of the finest in league history.
Opening the innings with Travis Head, who contributed a classy 66 off 37, Abhishek was in beast mode. The duo stitched together a 171-run opening stand that completely dismantled Punjab’s bowling attack and overshadowed Shreyas Iyer’s brisk 82 (36 balls) for PBKS earlier in the day.
SRH Climb, But NRR Still Hurts
The win helped Hyderabad jump to eighth place on the points table with 4 points from 6 matches. However, a few heavy losses earlier in the season have left their Net Run Rate at -1.245, still among the worst.
PBKS Hold Ground Despite Loss
Punjab Kings, despite conceding the second-highest successful chase in IPL history, remain sixth with 6 points from 5 games. Their NRR of +0.065 keeps them afloat in the top half of the table.
DC Dominate, CSK Struggle
At the top, Delhi Capitals are cruising. With four wins in as many games and a healthy NRR of +1.278, they are the only unbeaten team so far.
Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants also have 8 points each from 6 matches. GT’s superior NRR (+1.081) places them second, while LSG follow with +0.162.
Kolkata Knight Riders, with 3 wins in 6 games, are in fourth thanks to a strong NRR of +0.803. Royal Challengers Bangalore also have 6 points but sit fifth with +0.539.
Rajasthan Royals have stumbled this season, winning only 2 of their 5 matches. Their poor NRR (-0.733) places them seventh.
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are having a season to forget. MI, with 1 win from 5 games, are ninth with an NRR of -0.010. CSK are rock bottom, managing just 1 win from 6 outings and an alarming NRR of -1.554.
