Stovetop Pan Pizza Recipe: Ingredients-For the Pizza Dough
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- Tomato sauce or pizza sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your favourite pizza toppings (e.g., sliced bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, etc.)
- Dried oregano and red chilli flakes (optional, for extra flavour)
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into smaller portions depending on the size of the pizzas you want to make.
- Heat a non-stick pan on low to medium heat and grease it with a little oil or butter.
- Carefully place the rolled-out pizza dough on the heated pan. Cook it on low heat for a few minutes until the bottom side turns golden brown and is cooked.
Add the Toppings:
- Flip the pizza base so that the cooked side is facing up.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce or pizza sauce on the cooked side of the base.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
- Add your favourite pizza toppings over the cheese layer.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for a few more minutes until the cheese melts, and the toppings are heated through.
Finish Cooking:
- For a crispier crust, you can cook the pizza for a little longer without the lid, allowing the bottom to become crispy.
- Once the cheese is melted, and the toppings are cooked to your liking, remove the pan from the heat.
- Garnish the pizza with dried oregano and red chilli flakes if desired.
- Your homemade stovetop pan pizza is now ready to be sliced and served hot.
