Unlock the Steps: How to Update Aadhaar Address Online and Offline

Updating the address on your Aadhaar card can be conveniently done online through the Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI ) website or the mAadhaar app. Additionally, the process can be completed offline by visiting a Permanent Enrolment Centre (PEC) and submitting an Aadhaar Update Form (AUF). It's essential to note that UIDAI has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar card document updates to March 14, 2023.


Online Aadhar Card Address Change – Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Visit the official UIDAI website: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  2. Enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number, then click "Get OTP."
  3. Enter the received OTP and click " Login ."
  4. On the new page, find the "Address Update" option and click "Update Aadhar Online."
  5. Navigate through the "How It Works?" page for a detailed understanding.
  6. Click "Process To Update Aadhaar" and select the fields to update, focusing on the address.
  7. Enter your current and new address details in the "Details to be Updated" section.
  8. Upload the necessary Aadhaar card address change documents.
  9. Review the information, edit if necessary, and click next. Note down the generated SRN (Update Request Number).
  10. Pay the Rs 50 transaction fee for processing the address update request.

After submission, receive a URN (Update Request Number) for tracking the request status on the UIDAI website. The updated address will be reflected on the Aadhaar card within 10–15 days of approval.

Offline Aadhar Card Address Change:

Visit a Permanent Enrolment Centre (PEC) and fill the Aadhaar Update Form (AUF). Submit the AUF along with required proof of address documents and pay the application fee. Provide fingerprints and an IRIS scan. The updated address will be reflected on the Aadhaar card shortly.


Change Address in Aadhar Card on mAadhaar App:

  1. Download and install the mAadhaar app.
  2. Open the app, enter your Aadhaar details and registered mobile number, and click "Login."
  3. Enter the OTP received on your mobile number.
  4. Click the "Update Address” option.
  5. Enter the new address and upload a scanned copy of the required document.
  6. Click "Submit."

Receive a URN upon submission and track the request status on the mAadhaar app or UIDAI website. The updated address will be on your Aadhaar card within 10–15 days of approval.
