In today’s digital world, documents like the Aadhaar card have become essential for both government and non-government work. Whether it's opening a bank account, applying for a loan, getting a SIM card, or fulfilling various other requirements, Aadhaar is a crucial document. If your Aadhaar card was issued 10 years ago, it’s important to ensure it is updated to avoid any disruptions in its use.

If you’ve already updated your Aadhaar card, you can check its current status online. Let’s take a look at how you can do this easily from the comfort of your home.

Important Deadline for Aadhaar Update

The Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI ) is responsible for issuing Aadhaar cards to Indian citizens. If your Aadhaar card is 10 years old, UIDAI recommends getting it updated. While this can be done for free online, an offline update may require a fee.

Originally, the last date for updating Aadhaar cards was June 14, 2024, but this deadline has now been extended to December 14, 2024. This gives Aadhaar holders additional time—over two months—to ensure their cards are updated.

How to Check If Your Aadhaar is Updated

Follow these steps to check whether your Aadhaar card has been updated:

Step 1:

First, go to the official UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in. Once on the site, log in using your Aadhaar number.

Step 2:

Next, navigate to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section and click on ‘Check Aadhaar Update Status’.

Step 3:

You will be prompted to enter your Service Request Number (SRN), which you received during the update process. Enter this number along with the captcha code displayed on the screen.

Step 4:

After submitting the required details, you will see the current status of your Aadhaar update.

By following these simple steps, you can quickly verify whether your Aadhaar card has been successfully updated or if further action is required.

Make sure to update your Aadhaar in time to continue using it seamlessly for all necessary services.
