FASTag KYC Made Simple: Easy Steps For Online And Offline Updates
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is gearing up to launch the "One Vehicle, One FASTag " initiative, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the Electronic Toll Collection system and easing traffic congestion at toll plazas.
The primary objective of the initiative is to discourage the use of a single FASTag for multiple vehicles. To achieve this, NHAI encourages FASTag users to complete their Know Your Customer ( KYC ) process following the Reserve Bank of India 's guidelines.
Documents Required for FASTag KYC Update:
To initiate the FASTag KYC update , users must provide any of the following documents as per RBI guidelines:
-Passport
-Voter's ID
-Aadhar Card
-Driving license
-PAN card
-NREGA job card (signed by a State Government official)
Additionally, a copy of the vehicle's registration certificate is required along with the KYC documents.
Updating FASTag KYC Online:
To update FASTag KYC online, users can follow these steps:
-Visit the IHMCL FASTag portal.
-Log in using the registered mobile number.
-Navigate to "My Profile."
-Check the KYC status, click on the "KYC" tab, and select "Customer Type."
-Add the necessary fields along with the ID and address proof documents.
Updating FASTag KYC Offline:
For offline updates, users need to approach the FASTag issuing bank. Visit the nearest bank branch, fill out the application form with the updated details, and the bank will subsequently update the FASTag account with the new information. Alternatively, the relationship manager at the bank can assist with KYC updates in FASTag.
FASTag users must ensure that their KYC is completed for their most recent FASTag, adhering to the "One Vehicle, One FASTag" directive. Only the latest FASTag accounts will remain active. It's crucial to note that FASTags with sufficient balance but incomplete KYC will be blacklisted or deactivated by banks after January 31st.
