To check your EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) balance and latest contribution status, you have several options to access details quickly. Below is a guide on using the missed call service, website passbook feature, and additional criteria to remember for quick, free balance inquiries.

Checking Balance Through Missed Call Service

If you're registered on the UAN portal, you can check your balance by giving a missed call to 9966044425. Here’s how the process works

  • Registered Mobile Number: Make sure your mobile number is already registered on the UAN portal.
  • Linked KYC Details: To access the service, at least one of your KYC details—like your bank account, Aadhaar, or PAN—should be linked with your UAN.
  • Cost-Free Process: Once you place the call, it will disconnect automatically after two rings, so you won’t incur any charges for using the service.
This service is particularly convenient if you don’t have access to the internet but still want quick updates on your EPF balance.

Alternative Methods: Checking Your EPF Passbook Online

You can also check your EPF balance and contribution status by accessing the EPF passbook online. Here’s a step-by-step guide

  1. Visit the EPFO Website: Head to epfindia.gov.in, and select the 'For Employees' section under 'Services'.
  2. Select the ‘Member Passbook’ Option: Click on 'Member Passbook' to open a new webpage that will prompt you for login details.
  3. Login Credentials: Enter your UAN and password. You’ll also need to complete a CAPTCHA for verification.
  4. OTP Verification: An OTP will be sent to the phone number linked with your Aadhaar for security verification.
  5. Access Passbook: Once verified, you’ll be able to see your contribution details and balance within the passbook.
