One story that shattered hearts was of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal , 26, from the Indian Navy, and his 24-year-old wife Himanshi Sowami. Just married on April 19, they were visiting Pahalgam for a post-wedding getaway. Tragically, their love story was cut short in this senseless act of terror. AI-generated images of the couple, with the phrase “All eyes on Pahalgam,” have become symbols of sorrow and fury online.


The gravity of the attack prompted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cut short his Saudi Arabia tour and rush back to India. At the airport, he held a brief meeting with senior officials including S Jaishankar, Vikram Misri, and Ajit Doval to address the situation.

In a powerful post on X, the Prime Minister stated:

“I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected,” the PM wrote.

“Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice...they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger,” he added.
