SUGA Achieves 100 Million Spotify Streams, Standing Tall With EXO And (G)I-DLE As Fifth Korean Act

SUGA , the front-man and leader of the South Korean boy group BTS , has reached a significant milestone on Spotify , the world's largest music streaming platform.


He currently stands alongside EXO and (G)I-DLE as the fifth Korean acts with nine songs each, all surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify.

On October 6, 2021, 'The Last,' a solo track by SUGA from his debut mixtape 'Agust D,' achieved the milestone of 100 million streams on Spotify. This accomplishment marked his ninth song to surpass this benchmark, following the tracks 'Daechwita,' 'Interlude: Shadow,' 'Burn It,' 'People,' 'Strange,' 'What Do You Think?,' 'So Far Away,' and 'Agust D.'


Among Korean acts on Spotify, those with more than nine songs surpassing 100 million streams include BTS, boasting 61 songs, BLACKPINK with 24 songs, IU with 15 songs, and TWICE with 10 songs. SUGA, EXO, and (G)I-DLE are all tied for the fifth position, each having achieved this milestone with nine songs.

SUGA is renowned for his exceptional rap talents and his significant contributions in terms of songwriting, production, and composition for both BTS and his solo endeavors. His journey began when he debuted as a BTS member in 2013.


Subsequently, in 2016, he released his inaugural solo mixtape, 'Agust D.' In 2020, he followed up with his second solo mixtape, 'D-2,' which achieved a notable milestone by peaking at number 11 on the prestigious US Billboard 200 chart.

Jimin made his solo debut with an album released on March 24, 2023, and earned the distinction of being the only K-Pop artist and Korean soloist to have the longest-running chart presence in 2023, marking a significant achievement in his solo career.

Jimin's remarkable achievement continues to soar, as he has now surpassed his fellow bandmate Jungkook with an impressive 1.9 billion streams on Spotify. This historic milestone firmly establishes him as the first Korean soloist to achieve such a monumental feat in the world of music streaming.
