Bollywood Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha Left Stranded In Israel, Team Unable To Establish Contact
Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha finds herself stranded in Israel as a result of the recent attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, according to one of her team members on Saturday.
According to a statement from a member of her team, they said, " Nushrratt has been unfortunately stranded in Israel. She had flown there to attend the Haifa International Film Festival."
"The last time that I managed to get in touch with her was around 12.30 pm earlier today, when she was safe in a basement. For safety measures, further details cannot be disclosed. However, since then, we were not able to connect. We are trying to get Nushrratt back safely to India and hope she returns back in the best of health and unharmed," stated the team member, as quoted by India Today.
Early on Saturday, Hamas initiated an attack on Israel, launching numerous rockets and sending militants across the Gaza Strip. The attackers also took hundreds of individuals hostage, among whom were 35 soldiers.
The military wing of Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades, declared the operation named 'Al-Aqsa Floods' and unleashed a barrage of rockets. Simultaneously, Tel Aviv initiated its own operation, called 'Operation Iron Swords.'
Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, convened an emergency meeting and officially declared a state of war against Hamas. He emphatically stated, “We are at war and we will win,” he asserted, adding, "Not an ‘operation,’ not a ‘round,’ but at war."
Numerous countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and Australia, strongly condemned the Hamas attack. In a display of solidarity, Berlin's Brandenburg Gate was illuminated with the colors of the Israeli flag to symbolize Germany's support.
