A video of women performing kirtan (devotional singing) inside a Delhi Metro coach has gone viral, igniting a buzz online.

Shared on April 3 by Instagram user Billu Sanda, the clip shows a group of women seated—some on the floor—singing bhajans with instruments like the dholak and manjira. While their devotion was evident, fellow passengers looked visibly uncomfortable with the loud performance in the tight space.

Things shifted when a CISF jawan approached the group. On being told that such activities violate Metro rules, the women respectfully stopped and apologised.

As per Delhi Metro guidelines, sitting on the floor, singing, or dancing inside coaches is not allowed. The location and exact time of the video remain unverified.

Online reactions were split. Some netizens praised the women's devotion, while others stressed the importance of maintaining public decorum.

One user remarked, “This is not a place for all these things; basic etiquette should be there,” while another said, “Devotion towards God is good, and following culture is also good, but it is unnecessary.”

At its heart, the incident raises a simple question: Can faith and discipline go hand in hand in shared spaces?
