2025 Skoda Kodiaq Launch: A Complete Redesign With Premium Features
Skoda Auto India is all set to unveil the much-anticipated 2025 next-generation Skoda Kodiaq SUV tomorrow, April 17, 2025. The new Kodiaq promises to be a game-changer in the Indian market, bringing a fresh design, improved driving dynamics, and a range of new features. It was first introduced at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo and is expected to be priced at approximately Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). The Skoda Kodiaq will be going up against popular competitors in its segment, including the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian, Hyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail.
Two Variants and New Design Language
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq will be offered in two variants: Sport Line and L&K, both of which will feature a seven-seat layout. Skoda has redesigned the SUV based on its new design language, which includes a longer and lower stance. The Kodiaq has grown by 61mm, now measuring 4.75 metres in length, while the wheelbase and width remain unchanged at 2.71 metres and 1.8 metres, respectively.
The exterior features a sculpted bonnet, a newly designed hexagonal Skoda grille, and a revised Skoda logo in matte dark chrome. The front of the SUV is equipped with sleek split matrix LED headlights with connecting LED strips, offering a modern and bold look. Below, wide air intakes with a skid plate give the SUV a rugged appearance, while the aerodynamic drag coefficient has been reduced to cd = 0.282.
The rear of the Kodiaq also receives a facelift with a redesigned tailgate, bumper, and an extended roof spoiler. The rear apron has been reworked with an integrated diffuser, and the D-pillars now come finished in dark chrome, adding a premium touch to the SUV’s appearance.
Enhanced Interior and Features
Inside, the 2025 Kodiaq boasts a completely revamped dashboard with a large, free-standing 13.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard is complemented by small rotary dials with a small screen embedded inside for added functionality. Vertical air vents add a sleek, modern touch to the cabin, and leatherette upholstery is used extensively. Notably, Skoda has opted for eco-friendly recycled polyester in the upholstery.
As far as technology goes, the Kodiaq is equipped with a 13.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features a 10-inch digital instrument cluster with a heads-up display (HUD). Convenience is further enhanced with a 15W wireless charging pad with active cooling, unique LED ambient light strips, and storage for umbrellas in the front doors.
Other notable tech features include connected car technology, an in-built navigation system, a premium sound system, and a display for performance-oriented features, power delivery, and off-road information. Skoda has ensured that the Kodiaq is as tech-savvy as it is stylish, keeping up with the demands of modern drivers.
Powertrain and Performance
Mechanically, the new Kodiaq retains the same powertrain as its predecessor. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that delivers 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels. With this setup, the Kodiaq offers a balanced mix of performance and efficiency, making it well-suited for both city driving and long-distance road trips.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is an exciting addition to the Indian SUV market, offering a fresh design, improved features, and enhanced technology. It combines luxury, performance, and practicality, making it a strong contender in its segment. With its competitive pricing, the new Kodiaq is poised to take on some of the biggest names in the market. As Skoda prepares for tomorrow’s launch, car enthusiasts are eager to see how this SUV performs on Indian roads.
