The name ILLIT, previously I'll-It, was unveiled during the final episode of R U Next?, symbolizing the members' autonomy and ability to carve their own paths. Spearheaded by Hybe's chairman Bang Si-hyuk as the producer, their debut EP was highly anticipated, with pre-orders opening on February 26. Making a statement even before their official debut, ILLIT became the first K-pop artists to grace the stage of the Acne Studios show during Paris Fashion Week.
Their debut single "Magnetic" made an explosive entry into the music scene, securing a place on four U.S. Billboard charts within eight days of release. Breaking records left and right, ILLIT became the fastest K-pop act to debut on the Billboard Hot 100, with "Magnetic" claiming the 91st spot on April 16, 2024. The accompanying music video for "Lucky Girl Syndrome" further showcased their artistic prowess.
In just a few months since their debut, ILLIT has soared to unprecedented heights, with their album "Super Real Me" selling over 531,838 copies by April 29, 2024.
