BTS's V Demonstrates His Worldwide Appeal As The Vinyl Release Of 'Layover' Sells Out Multiple Times In The UK, US, And Japan

BTS member V’s solo album Layover continues to prove its global popularity , especially with the demand for its vinyl edition. Fans in the UK, US, Japan, and South Korea have repeatedly cleared store shelves, causing the LP to sell out multiple times across various countries.

In the UK, Layover vinyls sold out twice. Initially, pre-orders, which opened on August 20, were gone by September 1. When the album officially launched on October 18, it sold out again almost instantly across retailers like BTS Official UK Store, Record Store UK, Polydor, and The Sound of Vinyl. Just a day later, on October 19, more UK stores like Horizons Music, Hive, WHSmith, SOKOLLAB, and Kyyo reported their stocks had run out, totaling nine sold-out stores in the UK.

Over in the US, Layover vinyls saw similar success. It sold out at Barnes & Noble on October 18 and previously at major retailers like the BTS USA Official Store, Target, and Tower Records. Target, in particular, saw three rounds of sellouts for the LP. On top of that, the album hit #1 on the bestsellers list at prominent US stores like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy, cementing its place as a fan favorite.


Japan also couldn’t get enough of V’s vinyl. Pre-orders quickly sold out at BTS Official Japan Store and Universal Music Japan within a day of opening. Even after restocking, the LP continued to fly off the shelves, and it secured the #1 spot on Japan’s Oricon Daily Album chart and Amazon Japan’s Imported Albums list.

South Korean fans were no exception to this frenzy. The Layover vinyl dominated local real-time bestseller charts, topping Yes24’s CD/LP category. It also claimed the overall bestseller position on Aladdin, one of Korea’s major online retailers.

V's Layover isn’t just an album, it’s a global sensation, and its record-breaking sales in multiple countries show that the demand for this BTS star’s solo work is far from over.
