Tentōmushi Comics is set to release the seventh volume of Doraemon Plus manga on December 1, marking the 50th anniversary of the publishing house. Coincidentally, it also commemorates what would have been the 90th birthday of the late Doraemon co-creator, Fujiko F. Fujio . This upcoming volume, the first in nine years, adds a special touch to the celebration.

Doraemon Plus, introduced in 2005, is a compilation of Fujiko F. Fujio's (real name Hiroshi Fujimoto ) Doraemon stories that didn't find a place in the original 45-volume release. The sixth volume, released in 2014, contained 21 stories, and the seventh volume promises another 20 engaging tales.

Shogakukan, in celebration of Fujio's 80th birthday in 2014, launched the F Life official magazine. This initiative also spawned limited edition merchandise, additional magazines, a video game, and an exhibit—all featuring characters from the legendary creator's extensive body of work.

Sadly, the co-creator Fujiko Fujio A (real name Motoo Abiko ) passed away in April 2022 at the age of 88. Together, Fujiko A and Fujiko F. Fujio crafted the globally renowned Doraemon manga, chronicling the adventures of a futuristic robot cat and his friendship with the boy Nobita.

Running from 1970 to 1996, the manga became the cornerstone of one of the most successful children's media franchises worldwide. After working in tandem until 1987, the duo went their separate ways, with Abiko adopting the pseudonym Fujiko Fujio A and Fujimoto becoming Fujiko F. Fujio.

Fujimoto's passing occurred in 1996, but the legacy of Doraemon lives on, with the anime still captivating audiences on Japanese television since its third iteration began in 2005.
