WWE Alumnus calls creative team's booking of Roman Reigns post SummerSlam return
WWE alumnus Jonathan Coachman has slammed WWE for their booking of Roman Reigns . The OTC made a massive comeback to WWE SummerSlam earlier this year, only to launch hit Solo Sikoa with a Spear and Superman Punch before heading backstage again.
The angle that Coachman specifically called out was that Roman’s reappearance was just a run-in and not a larger match. He felt that this wasn’t very significant, and for a wrestler of Roman’s stature, something more significant was necessary.

Jonathan Coachman slams WWE for Roman Reigns’ bookingSpeaking to Chris Van Vliet on his podcast, Coachman said, “There’s no time for us to forget. We don’t see Roman Reigns for four months, and then this is what happens. Why in the world would you announce that your biggest star is coming back, only to make it a run-in? Think about that for a second. They announced Roman Reigns was returning at SummerSlam. The entire match, what was the crowd doing? They were looking at the entrance, waiting for Roman Reigns to come out. And when he did, he didn’t say a word; he just did a run-in.”
It’s worth noting that Roman Reigns is one of the most polarising Superstars in the company today, so to have him just run in is considered to be a waste of his potential. Right now Reigns has had a rather strange run in the company following his return at SummerSlam. He recently took a pinfall loss against Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel , and from the looks of it, the OG Bloodline is looking weak against the new Bloodline.
It’s common knowledge that fans for WWE aren’t too happy with this kind of booking because it showcases Roman Reigns as extremely weak for now, and WWE will have to do something to improve their odds right now. Chances are that this incident will not only set up an altercation between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, following the fallout of everything that happened at the end of the event, and will also set the stage for Paul Heyman, the Wiseman of the Bloodline to make a triumphant comeback to help the OTC.
This, however, is speculation for now, so it’ll be worth seeing how the storyline pans out during the coming weeks, eventually leading to Survivor Series: War Games.
