State-level games events held in city

Ludhiana: The second phase of the Punjab State-Level Games, part of the “Kheddan Watan Punjab Diyan 2024 – Season 3,” began on Nov 4 across five districts. The competitions feature events in athletics and lawn tennis for various age groups (Under-14, Under-17, Under-21, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and above 70) as well as baseball and kickboxing for boys and girls, with events held in Ludhiana.

DSO Kuldeep Chugh shared Wednesday’s results, including the third-day athletics matches for boys. In the U-17 group 400-metre hurdles, Raman Singh (Sangrur) took first place, followed by Barinder Singh (Ludhiana) in second, and Manjot Singh (Barnala) in third. For the 1,500 metres, Arshdeep Singh (Sangrur) was placed first, Maninder Singh (Sangrur) second, and Ramandeep Singh (Ferozepur) third. In the U-21 men’s discus throw, Devans Jagga (Fazilka) won first place, with Tanveer Singh (Jalandhar) in second and Jasan Sandhu (Fazilka) in third.

In the Under-14 girls’ team category, Patiala was placed first, Jalandhar second, and Ludhiana third. In the U-17 event, SAS Nagar was first, Amritsar 2nd, and Jalandhar third. For U-21, SAS Nagar was placed first, with Kapurthala and Patiala following in second and third.

Kickboxing Results

In the men’s 21-30 age group, for the 57 kg light contact category, Harkarn Singh Sandhu (Ludhiana) claimed first, Abhijeet Singh (Mansa) second, and both Navdeep Singh (Ferozepur) and Dharminder Kumar (Fazilka) placed third. In 69 kg, Dalip Kumar (Sangrur) took first, Rohit (Gurdaspur) second, and Jasanpreet Singh (Ferozepur) and Abhishek (Fazilka) placed third.
