Diversions for city as CM, AAP chief set for ceremony

Ludhiana: The city braces for traffic disruptions as Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and his Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal prepare to attend a state-level swearing-in ceremony for newly elected sarpanches on Nov 8.

With the high-profile event expected to draw large crowds and intensify traffic, the Ludhiana police have issued a comprehensive diversion plan that will affect key routes to manage the anticipated congestion. Police have advised commuters to take alternative routes throughout the day to avoid delays. The diversion is from at least six key points.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic Zone 2, Gurpreet Singh, advised residents to avoid the Dhanansu and Chandigarh Road areas on Friday if possible, or otherwise adhere to the suggested detours.
