Bhubaneswar: After Delhi, chief minister Mohan Majhi will travel to Mumbai later this week to attend a roadshow to attract investors to Odisha.

According to a communication from the chief minister’s office, Majhi will travel to Chandigarh on Wednesday to attend the swearing-in of the newly formed Haryana govt, to be held a day later. He will also participate in a meeting of CMs from NDA-ruled states in Chandigarh that day.

On Friday, Majhi will head to Mumbai to attend a conference related to opportunities in the chemicals and petrochemicals sector. On the afternoon of Friday and on Saturday morning, he will participate in an ‘Investors Conference’ in preparations for the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha Make In Odisha conclave, to be held here on Jan 28 and 29.

Industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain said Majhi attending the meeting on chemicals and petrochemicals sector is significant given Odisha’s prospects for getting investments in these areas in Paradip as well as in Dhamra and Gopalpur. Union chemicals and fertilizers minister J P Nadda is scheduled to chair the meeting.

Swain said the CM will meet more than 300 business leaders and potential investors across textiles, apparel, manufacturing and other sectors during Saturday’s roadshow. “This will be a huge boost for investments as Odisha prepares for the flagship investors summit in Jan,” Swain said.

Earlier this month, the CM had held discussions with ambassadors from different nations and members of several industry associations in New Delhi.

The Majhi govt has been showcasing Odisha’s dynamic industrial landscape and emerging investment opportunities to potential investors, including foreign investors in sectors such as IT & ITeS, textiles, food processing, chemicals, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and electronics manufacturing.
