Jay Shah became ICC chairman, now Team India will go to Pakistan, a shocking claim

Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, has recently been elected as the chairman of the ICC. He will start his tenure on December 1. The first major event of his tenure will be the Champions Trophy, which is to be played next year under the hosting of Pakistan. This tournament is to be played from 19 February to 9 March. It is not yet clear whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan for this tournament or not. Meanwhile, a big claim has been made by Pakistan on Team India's tour.

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has claimed that Team India can claim Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. He has also given the reason behind this. Rashid Latif believes that India's visit to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy is 50 percent certain. Speaking on a YouTube channel, Latif said on Team India's tour of Pakistan, 'If Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as the ICC Chairman, it means that the Pakistan Cricket Board has also given its support.'

Rashid Latif further said, 'I think it is unlikely that he will sign the declaration of India not going to Pakistan. I think we have got 50 percent confirmation that the Indian team is coming to Pakistan. Jai Shah's work has been beneficial for cricket so far, be it for BCCI or ICC.'

ICC event in Pakistan after years

The Indian team last visited Pakistan in 2008. Then the Indian cricket team went to play the Asia Cup held in Pakistan. At the same time, after co-hosting the 1996 Cricket World Cup, this was the first time that Pakistan has got the hosting of a major ICC event.

At the same time, last year Pakistan also got the hosting of the Asia Cup. But Team India did not visit Pakistan. In such a situation, it has been played on a hybrid model. This time it is expected that this tournament can be played on a hybrid model and Team India can play its matches outside Pakistan.
