India's famous wrestler Vinesh Phogat has taken a big decision and left her government job. On Friday, Vinesh Phogat announced to leave the government job. She posted her resignation on social media. Vinesh Phogat used to work in the Northern Railway.

She was posted as an Officer on Special Duty. While leaving the railway job, Vinesh Phogat wrote, 'Serving Indian Railways has been a memorable and proud time of my life. At this juncture of life, I have decided to separate myself from the railway service and have submitted my resignation to the competent officials of Indian Railways. I will always be grateful to the Indian Railway family for this opportunity given to me by the Railways in the service of the nation.'

Vinesh Phogat explained in her resignation why she is leaving the railway job. Vinesh wrote that she is leaving the job due to her family and personal circumstances. Vinesh Phogat was an OSD in the railways and this post pays a good salary. According to reports, the Railway OSD gets 15 to 17 lakh rupees annually. Vinesh Phogat has also joined the Congress, she can contest elections in the Haryana Assembly.

Vinesh Phogat performed brilliantly in the Paris Olympics. She reached the finals in the 50 kg category of wrestling, however, she was disqualified due to being 100 grams overweight. Due to this, she missed out on winning the Olympic medal.

Vinesh Phogat has won 15 medals for the country. She has won 3 bronze medals in the World Championship. She has one gold and one bronze medal in the Asian Games. She has won three gold medals in the Commonwealth Games. She has won one gold and three silver medals in the Asian Championship.
