Ingredients for making sweet mathri

Maida – 2 cups

Semolina/Rava – 1/2 cup

Desi ghee – 5 tsp

Sugar powder – 6 to 7 tsp

Oil – for frying

Sesame seeds

Method of making sweet mathri

To make sweet mathri, first sift the flour well in a large vessel with the help of a sieve. Then sift the semolina in the flour and mix both of them well. After this, add sugar powder, desi ghee and sesame seeds to it. Mix this mixture well and then knead it by adding water little by little. Keep in mind that it should not be wet.

When the flour is kneaded, cover it for a while. Take it out after about 20 minutes and then knead it again. After this, make small balls of this dough and roll it with the help of a rolling pin. Do not make it too thin.

After rolling, make a hole in it with the help of a knife or a fork, so that it does not swell while frying. When these mathris are ready, heat oil in a pan and fry them.

Bake the mathris slowly on medium flame, not on high flame. By doing this, it will become crispy and its taste will increase even more. Prepare a little sugar syrup on one side and then pour this syrup over these mathris. Decorate it by adding finely chopped pistachios, cashews and almonds and start your fast by eating it in Sargi.
