His role as a torchbearer was seen as a significant moment of national representation on a global stage. However, this prestigious opportunity sparked controversy when rumors emerged questioning the legitimacy of his selection. Japanese media reports speculated that the Korean government might have financially supported Jin’s involvement in the event.

In reality, the selection process for Olympic torchbearers follows a well-established protocol.
