Vicky Kaushal's Bad Newz continues its downward trend on second Friday; mints only Rs 2 crore

Vicky Kaushal slowly and steadily has been establishing himself as one of the finest talents of the current generation. With his latest film Bad Newz , he has proved that he can not only do comedy, but also dance, and thanks to these two reasons, the film also opened to good numbers. Over the first weekend, the film minted about 29.7 crore, but since then, the film has been on a downward trend with just a small spike on Tuesday which was purely on basis of ‘ Buy One Get One’ offer. It ended the first week run with Rs 42.85 crore.

The downward trend of the film continued even on its second Friday, where as per early estimates by Sacnilk, the film minted just Rs 2 crore, a 72 % drop from its Thursday collection of Rs 2.75 crore. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 44.85 crore. However, with the weekend coming in, the collection is expected to rise and cross the Rs 50 crore mark before the week ends. The film will face massive competition this week, as Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman ’s Deadpool & Wolverine was released on Friday and minted nearly Rs 21 crore in India, and is expected to go beyond Rs 50 crore by the end of the weekend.

Bad Newz also stars Triptii Dimri in her first film post the success of Ranbir Kapoor ’s Animal. It also features Ammy Virk , who is riding high on the success of his last Punjabi film Kudi Haryane Val Di with Sonam Bajwa .
