Stray Kids secures first place with 'Chk Chk Boom' on 'M Countdown'

Stray Kids is on a winning streak! On July 25, the group snagged their very first music show trophy for their latest hit, “Chk Chk Boom.” This accolade marks a significant milestone for the band, who have been making waves with their dynamic sound and infectious energy.

The excitement unfolded during a special episode of “M Countdown,” which swapped its usual live broadcast for a highlight reel of the year’s top moments so far. As the show came to a close, the spotlight turned to the highly anticipated winner’s announcement. The competition was fierce, with Stray Kids’ “Chk Chk Boom” facing off against BTS ’s Jimin’s “Who.”

Fans of both artists were on the edge of their seats, but it was Stray Kids who emerged victorious, earning their first-ever win for this track. The triumph not only celebrates the group's hard work but also reflects their growing influence in the K-pop scene. “Chk Chk Boom” has been praised for its catchy beats and standout choreography, making it a fan favorite and a worthy contender.

This achievement is a testament to Stray Kids’ dedication and talent, and it sets the stage for even greater successes in the future.

Formed by JYP Entertainment through a reality show back in 2017, Stray Kids is made up of eight incredibly talented members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. Though Woojin left the group in 2019 due to personal reasons, the remaining members have continued to shine.

What sets Stray Kids apart is their self-producing prowess. With 3Racha leading the charge in production (that’s Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han), and other members actively contributing to the songwriting process, they're not just performers, they're creators.

Their journey began with the pre-debut EP "Mixtape" in 2018, followed by their official debut with "I Am Not." Since then, they've blessed us with a series of EPs and albums, including the Clé trilogy and their smash-hit studio album "Go Live."

Stray Kids didn't stop there. They conquered Japan with their debut album and made waves in the US after signing with Republic Records. EPs like "Oddinary," "Maxident," and "Rock-Star," alongside their third studio album "5-Star," have all soared up the charts, proving their global appeal.
