Jason Tartick shares update on breakup with Kat Stickler; says, “Breakups suck”

Jason Tartick , former Bachelorette contestant, has opened up about his recent breakup with social media influencer Kat Stickler . The 35-year-old shared the emotional toll of the split during an episode of his podcast Trading Secrets , where he admitted, “the past week’s been tough” following their decision to part ways on October 12. Tartick didn’t hold back in expressing the difficulty of moving forward.

“I mean, there’s just no way to kind of beat around the bush,” he said. “Tough week. Breakups suck. If you’re in a situation where you’re not feeling OK, just know that’s OK.” Despite the emotional struggle, Tartick remained committed to his work, fulfilling a speaking engagement even though he wasn’t sure he could handle it. To his surprise, the event turned out to be a success. “Weirdly enough … I felt like it was one of the better speeches I ever gave, and it was what I was dreading the most. I didn’t feel like I was in a headspace to do it,” he reflected.

Yartick, who was previously engaged to Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe before their August 2023 split, also shared advice on navigating heartbreak, encouraging his listeners to lean on loved ones during tough times. “If anyone’s not feeling okay now, I guess some productive ideas, some that have helped me, is really leaning in. I think leaning into the people that matter most to you, mom, dad, for me, brother too, best friends.”

He emphasized the importance of self-care, explaining how he has been using meditation, sauna sessions, and reading to stay grounded. “Small things like focusing on hydration, been doing sauna. I’ve been reading instead of watching TV and even focusing on diet and all those little things, those little baby steps truly can help you get grounded and centered again.” The update comes just over a week after Tartick and Stickler announced their amicable breakup on social media. In his statement, Tartick confirmed the split and said that he is “rooting for her happiness” as they both move forward.
