It is high time we create more flawed characters in TV shows: Mudit Nayar

Mudit Nayar , who will soon enter the TV show Kavya , is clear about the kind of content he wants to be associated with. The actor, who says he is not comfortable being part of saas-bahu dramas, shares, “I am not saying there is anything wrong with these shows, it’s just that they don’t excite me. I played a guy, who couldn’t hear or speak in Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein and a killer in Keh Doon Tumhein , and both these roles were different.”

He adds, “Today, most lead roles in TV shows are about a guy who is nice and a girl who can never do anything wrong and will go all out to protect her family. I don’t feel such fairy tale characters exist in real life. It is high time we create more flawed characters in TV shows.”

Mudit, who turned writer during the lockdown and directed a short film, wants to try his luck in other mediums, too. “I want to focus on films and web projects and I’m sure it will happen,” he says. He added, "I enjoy writing and enjoy working behind the camera, too. I would want to work in interesting web projects and something will work out soon."

The actor, who isn’t active on social media , says, “I am an introvert and very different to the characters I play on screen. I don’t believe that social media followers can help me get a role. It may be the trend right now, but I believe that being true to the craft is more important than anything else.”
