Dua Lipa releases 'Illusion' remix featuring Japan hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts

Dua Lipa has unveiled a fresh remix of her hit single “Illusion,” featuring Japan's hip-hop sensation Creepy Nuts . Known for their viral track “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” which topped Billboard Japan’s mid-year chart, Creepy Nuts adds their unique flair to the remix.

The original “Illusion” from Lipa’s album Radical Optimism explored themes of self-empowerment and overcoming toxic relationships. It soared to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and hit the UK Top 10, amassing over 250 million streams and 35 million video views.

Creepy Nuts caught Lipa's attention when their track “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” hit No. 8 on the Billboard Global 200 in March, becoming a major international success. This prompted Lipa to reach out for a remix collaboration. The result blends Matsunaga’s infectious beats with R-shitei’s dynamic bars, integrating references to Lipa’s past hits.

“The track turned out well, and it was a fresh challenge that brought out a new side of us as well,” says Matsunaga, while R-shitei adds, “I looked to the original lyrics of Dua Lipa’s ‘ Illusion ’ and participated in the world it depicted, letting the illusionist in me appear in the lyrics that I wrote.”

Lipa is set to return to Japan in November for two sold-out arena shows. Recognized by Spotify as a groundbreaking artist, she continues to dominate the charts globally. Creepy Nuts, fresh from their U.S. debut at Dodger Stadium and gearing up for a Tokyo Dome concert in 2025, are excited about this remix.
