Dia Mirza hints at 'RHTDM' sequel with R Madhavan, says “Nostalgia is a very powerful feeling”
Actress Dia Mirza recently recalled her most iconic role as the character Reena Malhotra in the classic R Madhavan starrer ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ aka ‘ RHTDM ’ in an interview. The ‘Dhak Dhak’ actress also opened up about a potential sequel for the movie.
Talking to News18, Dia Mirza shared her feelings about watching the re-release of ‘RHTDM’ directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, in theatres. The ‘Salam Mumbai’ actress said that she along with Maddy (Madhavan) was blown away by the video of people watching the re-release film in theatres.

Dia Mirza decided to watch ‘RHTDM’ re-release in theatres along with her hubby Vaibhav Rekhi. Watching people in the theatres completely immersed in the film, singing songs, cheering, etc, made Dia feel that ‘‘RHTDM’ is a gift that never stops giving’.
Dia Mirza said that watching the nationwide response to the movie, Madhavan called her and asked, ‘Are you seeing this?’, she replied to Maddy by saying that the audience's reaction was priceless and ‘Insane’. Later Dia and R Madhavan did a live session based on the movie.
“I don’t know what it is. Is it the music, the lyrics? Nostalgia is a very powerful feeling,” said Dia Mirza during the interview. She also shared her idea for the sequel to the Saif Ali Khan starrer. I hope that if a sequel is ever made, the story does justice to the kind of love the film has earned over the years, “ said Dia, highlighting the importance of not losing the original quality if the sequel is made in the future.
Reacting to the question regarding the possibility of a sequel to ‘RHTDM’, the actress said that over the years there have been discussions happening, but a strong story is what matters for them to say a complete ‘Yes’ to the sequel to this GVM’s directorial.
