Dragon Ball Daima Anime Recasts VAs Of All Major Characters That Turned Mini With Goku Being An Exception

The official website of Dragon Ball announced on Oct 19, 2024, that the voice actors of all the characters that’ve turned mini in episode 2 of Dragon Ball Daima, including Vegeta, Bulma, and Piccolo, have been recast.

However, it was also revealed that Masako Nozawa will continue to voice Goku in the anime.

A total of 12 voice actors have been unveiled, with many of them expressing their enthusiasm for joining the franchise.

  • Mai Nakahara as Bulma (Mini)

I never dreamed I’d be involved with a show that I watched back as a child like this, so I was overjoyed when I heard I was chosen for the role. The reality didn’t really sink in all the way up to recording sessions, but during the sessions, feeling the staff’s emotions for the show helped my pull myself together. It’s an honor to be involved!

  • Yudai Mino as Vegeta (Mini)

The reality and joy of being able to be involved as a voice actor in Dragon Ball, a wonderful show that I’ve watched for so long, has gradually sunk in, and made me want to give my best performance! I’m sure you’re all seeing a world you’ve never I hope you all enjoy the adventures that unfold, and events and action scenes that could only happen because our characters have been turned small!

  • Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Piccolo (Mini)

I was happy just to land the audition, but when I found out I would be playing Piccolo (Mini), I was ecstatic. I went to recording sessions with the utmost respect to Toriyama-sensei and the show and characters that so many people have loved over the years. It is truly an honor to be involved with this show.

  • Aki Kanada as Krillin (Mini)

When I was told I got the role, I was such a mix of happy and shocked and worried if I’d live up to the role that I screamed in a funny voice, “Uueeeee?!!” I listened to Krillin’s young voice, but the cuteness, Kindness, and craftiness were so magical that I just couldn’t mimic it. I’m so thankful to be given this opportunity.

  • Ai Kakuma as Chichi (Mini)

I was SO happy!! It was an honor just to be able to audition for the role, but I never imagined that I’d be voicing Chihi (Mini) in the anime. My father owned and loved the original manga series, and I used to watch the anime series with my brothers, so this has always been a show that’s been very close to me, and now I can give something back to my parents! I’ve been looking forward to the airing of the show hoping to surprise my brothers.

  • Nobuaki Kanemitsu as Kamesennin (Mini)

When I was told I got the role of Kamesennin (Mini), I thought, “I get to be in Dragon Ball, a show I’ve loved since childhood! And as Kamesennin (Mini) no less!” The world of Dragon Ball DAIMA has only just begun. I’d like to continue to support Goku and his adventures as the master of the greatest warrior in the universe!

  • Tsubasa Yonaga as Trunks (Mini)

I was so happy I was bouncing off the walls!! I’ve watched Dragon Ball since I was a kid, and I used to pretend play Dragon Ball with my friends, but I never expected I’d be chosen for this role, so when I was told the results of my audition I actually yelled out in my home!!! I’m going to watch every week with excitement as a Dragon Ball fan myself!!!

  • Erina Goto as Dende (Mini)

I remember staring at the script with “Dende (Mini)” written on it at my agent’s office and yelling out “What?!” I was full of surprise and joy and doubt as to whether it was really for me, but I was truly happy. I’m going to enjoy Dragon Ball DAIMA along with everyone else!!

  • Kimiko Saito as Mr. Popo (Mini)

I get to play a role in Dragon Ball, a show I’ve loved since childhood! I’m so blessed I wish I could tell the young me back in elementary school when I played “Makafushigi Adventure!” on the trumpet for the athletic festival. When I heard the results of my audition, I was so excited that I screamed in such a high voice that I never use that I surprised myself. That’s how happy I was.

  • Yusuke Handa as Kibito (Mini)

Dragon Ball is a show I watched glued to the TV! To be able to participate as Kibito (Mini)… There is no higher honor !! The excitement and heart pounding that fills the world of Dragon Ball! I’m looking forward to whatever kind of adventure awaits us! I hope I can experience along with everyone else! Let’s enjoy all the corners of the world of DAIMA!

  • Toru Sakurai as Mr. Satan (Mini)

I never dreamed I’d be involved with Dragon Ball, a show that I watched as a child, so I’m so happy. When I learned that I got the role of Mr. Satan (Mini), more than really relishing the excitement, the reality just didn’t sink in. I played the role while remembering the image I had of Mr. Satan back when I was a kid! Stay tuned to Dragon Ball DAIMA!

  • Shiho Amura as Majin Buu (Mini)

I played a Dragon Ball video game when I was little , but I was so weak that I usually ended up pouting. And now I get to play the role of the ultimate Majin Buu (Mini)…! It’s unbelievable enough that I got to be involved with the show, so I’m so, so grateful. I think people will get to see a different side of these familiar characters! It’s a show that children and adults can enjoy, so let’s all go on a grand adventure with Goku and his friends!

 is an original anime series with content penned by the late Akira Toriyama.

Toriyama had been deeply involved in the production, overseeing the story, character designs, and various other elements.

The anime is co-directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki, with the series’ composition handled by Yuko Kakihara, and animation character designs by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.

Zedd feat. C&K. performed the anime’s opening theme song ‘Jaka Jaan,’ with Zedd feat. Ai performing the ending theme song ‘NAKAMA’.
