The American actress Terry Ann Garr, aka Teri Garr, has passed away, and the whole of Hollywood is mourning her loss. The actress, who was known for her comedic roles in film and television, even received many nominations for an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. But do you know what her iconic role was? Many who must be unfamiliar with Terry should now know she was in one of the most loved TV series, Friends. Yes, you read that right. Early life of Terry

Terry, who spent most of her growing up years in North Hollywood, that is, California, was the third child of a comedic-actor father and a studio costumer mother. Terry got trained in ballet and other forms of dance at a very early age and began her career as a teenager only, where she played many small roles in TV shows and even films.

Best supporting actress!

Terry was nominated for the Academy Award for best supporting actress for her comedic role as an acting student in Tootsie. She is also known for her roles in Francis Ford Coppola's thriller The Conversation. 

Her guest role from where we know her!

The American actress played a role as Phoebe Abbott in the sitcom Friends. In the late 1990s, Terry landed the role as recurring character Phoebe Abbott, the estranged birth mother of Phoebe Buffay.

Terry's career began to fall in the late 1990s after a neurologist informed her that symptoms she had been experiencing for many years were those of multiple sclerosis. In 2002, the actress announced that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, the symptoms of which had affected her ability to perform. She later retired from acting in 2011.
