Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited biographical drama Amaran is gearing up for a Diwali release and the buzz around it is skyrocketing. While you keep your excitement high to watch it on the big screen, here’s an OTT update of this Tamil film. Amaran will stream on Netflix weeks after its theatrical run.

Plot

Amaran is a cinematic adaptation of Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book series India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Millitary chronicling the life and achievements of Major Mukund Varadarajan. The Ashok Chakra awardee was martyred during action in the Qazipathri Operation of Shopian, on April 25th, 2014 and Amaran

aims to relive his contributions and sacrifices on the big screen.

Just don’t consider this a war film, film’s director Rajkumar Periasamy said in a promotional video, “This is primarily a love story. A love between a wife and a husband. A love between a brave man and his passion. It is about the greater selfless love, and Amaran started with Indu.”

is produced by Kamal Haasan, Vakil Khan, Mrunalini Havaldar, and R. Mahendran under the banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India. It will feature Sivakarthikeyan playing the character of Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman and Gaurav Venkatesh in the key roles.

Amaran’s music has been composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar and cinematographed by CH Sai. The film is edited by R. Kalaivanan and distributed by Red Giant Movies.
