Liam Payne's death: One Direction star 'jumped from the balcony'

A tragic update regarding the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne has been revealed. The 31-year-old star died on October 16 in Argentina. While it was initially reported that he fell from a balcony of the hotel he was staying at during his trip, the latest statement from the Buenos Aires Security Ministry revealed that Liam Payne allegedly "jumped from the balcony of his room."

The truth behind Liam Payne's death  

According to a statement made by  Buenos Aires Security Ministry’s communications director Pablo Policicchio to the Associated Press (AP) the troubled singer 'jumped from the balcony', while earlier it was reported that he fell. Liam was put up in a third-floor room in the Casa Sur Hotel which is situated in the Palermo area of Argentina's capital. The statement also mentioned that the police had rushed to the hotel after receiving an emergency call around 5 pm (local time).

According to AP sources, the police were warned about "A guest who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol." The 911 call recording was also accessed by AP where the caller also added, "he's destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please.” 

While an official autopsy is underway, the Buenos Aires police said that Liam had “extremely serious injuries.” while the medic added the that troubled singer had died on the spot.

Payne had originally shot to fame at the mere age of 14 following his appearance on X Factor which led to the formation of his boy band One Direction along with fellow members Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Luke Thompson. Liam Payne has also dealt with substance abuse and has been open about his problems with alcoholism and his rehab stint.
