Ayushmann Khurrana slammed for 'pretending' to clean beach

Ayushmann Khurrana might be known for his stellar performances in movies but his recent beach clean-up stint after Ganesh Visarjan celebrations has sparked a whole new controversy. A viral video showing him taking part in a beach cleanliness initiative at Versova Chowpatty has fans scratching their heads and wondering, 'What exactly is he cleaning?'

In the video, he is seen alongside other dignitaries including Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Rahul Narwekar, speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Niranjan Hiranandani who is the managing director of Hiranandani Group. 

Wearing blue-coloured gloves, he looks into the camera and poses while picking up flower petals. This has fans saying, "What are they doing? Where is the clean-up part?"

Slamming him, other fans wrote, "If his intention was to clean then he would have worn boots and waterproof bibs." Another one added, "They will leave after getting clicked." Another user slammed him and said, "Everything is just photo-op for them."

"Maybe he cleaning the protein powder that couldn’t digest in 3 years," wrote another fan taking a dig at his other viral video in which he said that it takes three years for a human body to digest protein. He was massively trolled after he made this statement. "Ye protein powder ki baat kar raha hai ? Or Plastic scoop that comes with protein ka dabba," a fan said taking a dig at his statement. "I see Ayushman doing movies supposedly 'progressive', but always speaks random shit in interviews. I mean the guy was on Roadies , that personality of speaking shit with conviction does show," said another one.

At the event, Ayushmann Khurrana was quoted as saying, "Today, it feels like India has awakened. We have only one planet to live on. We cannot survive without Earth, but Earth can exist without human beings."
