'Pitch-perfect' comedy with 96% Rotten Tomatoes score streaming on BBC

What We Do In The Shadows follows vampires Nandor, Colin Robinson, Nadja and Laszlo who live in a large house on Staten Island.

They are taken care of my Nandor's familiar Guillermo as the launch business ventures such as Nadja's bar, cause trouble around the neighbourhood and endeavour to find the love of their (un)dead life.

Guillermo tries to balance his loyalty to Nandor and dream of becoming a vampire with a dark secret - he's related to notorious vampire hunter Van Helsing.

If you haven't seen the comedy yet, critics say it's a "missed opportunity" with the series given a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Claudia Puig of USA Today said of the series: "If Twilight made you queasy and Dark Shadows felt like a missed opportunity, this pitch-perfect genre spoof is worth relishing."

Meanwhile, JR Jones of Chicago Reader added: "I'm so sick of vampires I'd have pounded a stake into my own heart not to have to watch this, but it turns out to be a pitch-perfect spoof of MTV's The Real World and a sly satire on millennial slackerdom."

Unfortunately, if you become a fan of the series there's bad news as the show is coming to an end. The final season will be broadcast on FX in the US on October 21 before moving to the BBC.

The new series will see the return of Harvey Guillén as Guillermo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson, Matt Berry as Laszlo and Kristen Schaal as The Guide.
